Bank of Ireland Closes its branch in Castleblayney

Last Friday, 8th of October Bank of Ireland branch in Castleblayney closed its doors to the Public. Bank of Ireland, which is regulated by Central Bank of Ireland, served Castleblayney community for over 100 years and was based in terraced three-bay three-storey bank building, constructed in 1874 and situated on MainStreet. Affected residents of Castleblayney town and local area can continue banking at An Post Office in Castleblayney or other Post offices for no additional charge.  This will include over the counter cash and cheque lodgements, and cash withdrawals, with longer weekday opening hours than traditional bank branches, as well as Saturday opening. Local people who had account with Bank of Ireland had an option to transfer their accounts to other branches situated in Ballybay or Carrickmacross.
