Castleblayney’s Improved Efforts in” Tidy Towns” 2017

Well done to Castleblayney Tidy Towns who have increased their score by five points this year in the National Tidy Towns competition.

The judges were impressed with the level of commitment and energy shown by the Castleblayney Tidy Towns committee and the volunteers who dedicate their time to improve the town.

It was particularly commented upon the efforts to preserve and ultimately restore the Hope Castle and its surroundings while keeping in touch with the heritage and history of the Castleblayney. Local businesses and schools were also commended for their support and participation in improving the local area. It was said that the junior Tidy Towns mural was superb, making the town a more vibrant place.
