Six groups who are due to stage events in the local calendar during 2010 have come together in an effort to create greater awareness of their respective activities.
The six groups namely Castleblayney Agricultural Show, Castleblayney Chamber of Commerce, Castleblayney Drama Festival, Muckno Mania Festival, Devlin Bog Snorkeling Competition and the Vincie Boyd Pipe Band Competition. The groups have had a number of meetings over recent weeks which have progressed ideas around joint marketing, fundraising and the drawdown of financial supports.
All the groups share a common purpose in that they each stage a major community event during the year which appeals to and draws support from the local community.
The groups have announced their intention to shortly launch a unique marketing publication which will be the first of their initiatives and will give them the impetus to plan further initiatives in the coming months.
